Dryer Vent Cleaning Services
Dryer vents are serviced from the exterior; a rotary brush is inserted from the outside while the dryer is turned on for one full cycle at the lowest temperature setting, and is spun the entire distance to the dryer's breach. For this reason, the dryer must be functional, connected to its designated duct, and terminate outdoors.
Dryer vent cleaning services can vary greatly in cost, correlating to the termination's location, the duct's overall length, as well as the time of year when service is requested. Price is subject to increase if deck boards must be removed, or if roof and/or attic access is required.
Please keep in mind that roof-borne services are not performed when there is snow or ice, and servicing may have to wait until more favorable weather.
Mt Freedom Chimney doesn't perform dryer appliance repair, and cannot order replacement parts. Dryer vents may require replacing duct components due to damage or faulty installation, upon inspection. Company policy does not permit the usage and installation of customer-supplied parts, materials, tools, and equipment.
HVAC heating/cooling air duct cleaning is not a provided service.
Office Visits
The MFC office is closed to the general public, and visitation is not permitted. I'm a local, one-person company, and I operate out of my home-office. As much as I appreciate your enthusiasm for fire safety, business and work take place at your house. Mailbox and front door drop-offs are also not permitted. All inbound mail must be post-marked, otherwise it will be discarded (or mailed back if there is a return address).
Weather-Related Considerations
Services requiring roof access are suspended throughout the winter until springtime: chimney cap installation, 2nd floor dryer vent cleaning, chimney sweeping services for both home-heating systems and free-standing wood stoves.
Chimney sweeping services for open-faced fireplaces, fireplace wood inserts, and factory-prefab fireplaces are performed 12 months out of the year.
Additionally, appointments will be rescheduled due to rain, snow, and high winds.
Gas Fireplaces
MFC is not a licensed plumber, and does not service or troubleshoot gas appliances, to include lighting pilot lights.
LEFT Open-faced gas logs: the chimney is usually swept one last time prior to conversion from wood-burning, as it will no longer require sweeping post-conversion. For evaluations, the pilot light must be OFF for at least two hours prior to arrival.
RIGHT Sealed gas inserts: a licensed plumber (preferably the installer) must be called for servicing and maintenance.
